There have been many criticisms of Senator Barack Obama and his plan for America’s future. Perhaps the biggest one of all is by those who love to throw out the word “Socialism.”
Socialism, according to Webster’s dictionary, is defined as, “Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.”
I feel the fear here is that many people are afraid that “Socialism” (which Senator Obama is not fighting for) will lead to a rebellion of the class structure and that there will no longer be rich people and poor people. Another fear people have is that Socialism is the step before Communism, and we all know how much everyone hates that.
Obama’s critics claim his ideas will not better this country and his “redistribution of wealth” (his tax plan) will drive this nation to the ground. His critics claim that universal healthcare is not a good idea because well, I’ve never actually heard a reason why…
The truth is that Obama’s tax plan does in fact raise taxes…on the richest people living in this country. Obama does this because he actually cares about the middle class and the majority of the people living in America.
If we take a look at McCain’s tax plan and Obama’s plan (as so nicely put side by side by the Washington Post) it is clear who Obama cares about and how he wants things to change.

John McCain saves some people nineteen dollars. Nineteen dollars! That won’t pay for the tank of gas to drive you to the unemployment office.
I can already hear the critics already “John McCain’s plan saves more money on average.” “Obama raises taxes over $700,000 for people.” “Obama is a clear socialist because he wants to tax the rich to give to the poor!”
Senator Obama believes in helping people achieve a better standard of living. He wants to help women attain equal pay for better work. He wants to help students get an affordable education. He wants people to be able to meet the expense of healthcare. Does this sound like a socialist, or does this sound like someone who wants to lead this country to more prosperous times? Perhaps this sounds like someone who wants to restore tax brackets that were in place during an administration that saw wages rise, home investments soar, and unemployment drop.
“Senator Obama wants to spend more money than John McCain.”
“He wants the government to be more involved.”
Those are both lines of attack that his critics use very often. And to be fair, those statements are true. But this doesn’t make him a socialist, this makes him a realist.
Senator Obama believes in Universal healthcare. He believes government should help pay for the care of its people. He is not forcing people to sign up for this governmental coverage he is simply giving them an option. Can anyone give me a reason why this is a bad thing? The way the healthcare system is in this country just doesn’t seem to be working. Does anyone have a better idea to help get people insured? John McCain offers nothing on this issue.
Senator Obama knows that we are living in very trying times. He knows (he “gets it” one might say) that Americans are struggling to pay for the things that make the American Dream. Is it wrong for a man who aspires to lead this great nation to want to fix that?
Senator Obama’s positions on issues and rise in politics have been compared to the late great Senator turned Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy.
Robert F. Kennedy believed in ridding the world of poverty. He wasn’t called a socialist he was called a hero. He saw a world that should have been and didn’t get a chance to take us there.
Are we content with where we are, or are we ready to commit to a better America?

I don't see how you can not realize that he is fighting for socialism. he's just couching it in softer terms because he doesn't have the guts that Bernie Sanders does, even though Hussein's voting record is more to the left than Sanders'. McCain's direction is the same as Bush. What plan does he have that offers change, that offers something different, that will lead the country in the right direction?

Yes, it sounds exactly like a socialist. This is why Obama will fail. All real Americans realize they responsible for their own well-being. They don't stand around with their hands out waiting for the government to "fix" their problems.
Want an education? Get a job and pay for it your damn self.
You want to get paid more? Work harder.
You want health care? Provide hard work and value to an organization that offers insurance.
People who rely on the government to take care of them are weak-minded parasites.
Jobs, education, and health care are not rights to be provided by the government.
They are privileges to be earned through hard work and sacrafice.

Looks like we have someone about as out of touch with the American people as John McCain. Heaven forbid the government should do something for the people who elect its officials.
Obama has said that his plans will require hard work by the American people. They will have to work to receive the help he proposes.
The fact of the matter is that no one in the middle class income range can really afford an education for their children anymore. Do you honestly think someone with no college degree will be able to make enough money in a year to pay for that same year of college? I doubt it.
Your reference to the American people as "weak-minded parasites" is insulting. Your insensitive "solutions" are a joke. And you are as out of touch as McBush.
